In a hospital, the patient must leave their identity behind and be placed on the numbered bed within a bare compartment that is spatial identical in almost every hospital. Covid has shined the light on the existing problems of our health care system but one that this project focuses on the is dehumanising nature of hospitals in the UK.
This project proposes a tower that challenges the existing typology of hospitals and attempts to redesign it as a human-centric vertical village. The aim is to redefine the waiting spaces and communal areas. Focusing on three principles domesticity, privacy, and connection with nature to allow patients, staff, and visitors to have an enlightening experience.
