Considering transport infrastructure as a destination rather than merely an input and output terminal. Investigating and proposing a brief stay in central London for business people, young professionals, and seasonal staff working on short assignments. Where units are modular components developed over railway tracks.
The brief asked for us to use a hybrid approach to work on existing structures. Whereas the hybrid system was defined as a set of physical and digital experiments that generate structural, performative, or spatial logic at the start of the term, I investigated various four different forms of hybrid systems. Interaction of fibers, dynamic structure, origami, and coral growth. My earliest efforts began with granules and glue, working with various material sizes. Material tests were conducted in order to better understand how materials behave. Understanding the connection between the volumes comes from experimenting with various typologies. The units used design operations like merge shift stack to work with sunlight, outdoor space connections, and airflow conditions. When the two components are placed together, they make a stackable form. Small to large façade openings with various types of terraces were built. System of support I conducted research on vault structures seen in the nave of the cathedral. Distributing loads to the column in an efficient manner Cross-vault components are developed separately.
